Anne McGlynn

Anne is an independent artist creating abstract expressionist painting in Wexford. She is drawn to painting as it allows her to access other realms that are not generated by the control seeking left brain, but feeds on ambiguity, intuition, and the life of dreams, and thrives in the realms of poetry and myth.

She still follows the dictum of Paul Klee, whose work she studied in college and whose notion of “sichtbar machen” or “making visible” is still a guiding light to her today, feeling as she does that before we ever know them these paintings are out there, invisible until we answer the call to bring them alive and make them visible.

She also works in other media– creating hand-painted and printed lampshades and quilts, and loves the crossover and cross-fertilisation that happens between painting and these tactile and visual media.
