Bridgeen Butler

Bridgeen grew up on the rural outskirts of Ballycastle and continues to live in this picturesque part of County Antrim. Her catalogue of work is varied in style and technique, ranging from realism to abstraction, from the representative to the whimsical. She provides her audience with landscapes, seascapes, townscapes, figurative works, and still-life works that draw from her life experience and imagination.

Bridgeen is largely self-taught and works primarily in oils, acrylics, and cold wax. Although she has had lifelong interest in art, it was not until her retirement that she was able to devote her time and energy fully
to her art practice.

Since then, she has taken part in online art courses, studied art literature, and visited galleries at home and abroad to expand her knowledge and practice. Bridgeen’s work has been shown online and in local/regional venues. She held her first solo show during 2022 and a second during 2023. Over the past five years, she has also contributed to a number of group exhibitions and was delighted to take part in the first exhibition by ‘The Irish Palette’ held in 2024.

Her artwork is now held in private collections in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Dubai, and New York. She describes artmaking as her full-time pastime, passion, and sanctuary.
