Deirdre Geraghty
Deirdre Geraghty is a Dublin-born visual artist now based in County Kerry. With a career spanning 40 years, her art has always been deeply influenced by her environment. Her earlier collections reflect bold, vibrant impressions of the sun-drenched landscapes she experienced, from her childhood in Kenya to her time living across Mediterranean countries during her 20s, 30s, and 40s.
Her current series, LANDSPEAK, is inspired by the stories, places, and unique energy of the magical landscape surrounding the Kingdom of Kerry.
"Since moving to Kerry full-time in recent years, I feel a deeper connection to my Irish identity—our history, legends, and land—and what that truly means to me. My passion for Ireland has grown stronger than ever, and I now feel a sense of belonging that has eluded me for most of my life. I can feel the land and its energy, our history, language, and stories," she explains. "This series of paintings seeks to capture the ethereal beauty, essence, and magic of the Iveragh Peninsula."
Deirdre’s original works are part of private collections in countries including Ireland, the UK, Cyprus, Spain, France, China, Australia, and the UAE, among others.
