Michelle Harton

Michelle Harton, a native of Cavan, works mainly in acrylic paint. She studied art at Fermanagh College in Northern Ireland, classical portraiture and figure painting and drawing at the private art school and international arts colony Studio Escalier in France, plein air painting with David Mynett in Majorca and is an alumnus of the intensive Creative Visionary Program with Nicholas Wilton along with many years of self-experimentation.
Harton’s previous work has included collections on the folklore of her hometown, Cavan, and the legends of South Korea and a solo exhibition based on the “Fairy Stories of Oscar Wilde.” Her current series of work, “The Land Of Gemini,” is an ongoing exploration into the creation of mystical dream worlds for introspective art collectors as a place to escape to and meditate in to recharge their energy and spirit. The connection between people and animals is also another strong area of interest for Michelle and runs between all her bodies of work.
Michelle has exhibited in Dublin Castle, Saatchi Gallery, London, and had multiple exhibitions in South Korea. In 2023, a very successful art cocktail menu was designed by the luxury 5-star Grand InterContinental Parnas Hotel in Seoul and launched during the international art fair Frieze Seoul based on 5 of Michelle’s paintings, which were also exhibited in the hotel.
Michelle’s work has received arts awards in Ireland from The Arts Council, Cavan County Council, and Fingal County Council. Her work has been acquired for permanent display in The Townhall Theatre, Cavan, and for the collection of the Irish Embassy in South Korea.
